Oelo and EverLights differ most in voltage, warranty and how you buy in. Oelo's own chart, as shown in search results, lists a 36 volt system at 10 inches or closer, rated 100,000 hours, with 7 years on Authorized dealer installs. EverLights' pages list a 24 volt ClickLights kit at $1,675 per 100 ft, a power booster every 75 ft, and 5 years on parts when its own crew installs.
Written by the GlowBid founder; facts checked on each brand's site on October 28, 2026. Oelo's site refused our fetch again, so every Oelo figure comes from Oelo's own pages as they appear in search results, and is marked. Where one brand describes the other, the claim is credited to that brand. GlowBid is not a dealer for either and has no partnership with either.
Oelo publishes it; EverLights does not. Oelo's comparison chart lists its standard spacing as 10 inches or closer, and its brochure describes the acrylic version as LEDs behind a translucent lens for a flush look.
EverLights' own pages give no spacing. Two competitors describe it, and they disagree: Trimlight's comparison page, accurate as of February 27, 2025 by its own date, says 9 inches, and Oelo's chart says 12 inches or closer. On 200 lit feet that is the difference between about 267 lights and 200. Ask EverLights for the number before you build a materials rule, and do not take either rival's word for it.
Oelo gives you two looks; EverLights gives you one channel in five colours. Oelo's acrylic covers come in 8 ft increments and hide the LEDs behind a lens. Its 2025 brochure lists a metal channel in 7 ft 6 in increments that the lights snap into for even spacing. Both lengths decide where your joins land on a gable.
EverLights' 100 ft kit ships 21 aluminum channel pieces and 110 caps, with channel in White, Black, Musket Brown, Pebblestone Clay or Dark Bronze and clear or grey caps. Its home page says the lights face outward or downward. Trimlight's comparison page says EverLights mounts on the top lip of the gutter or in the drip edge, with channel where there is no gutter. EverLights' warranty excludes damage from gutter, roof or soffit failure, so check the gutter before you quote it as the mount.
Yes, in where the power lines go on your quote. EverLights publishes the most detail of any brand on this point:
A power booster about every 75 ft, each covering 75 ft, fed from either end.
A data buffer on unlit wire over 5 ft between the receiver and the first light, including after a Y-split.
One Smart Bridge pairs with up to 20 wireless receivers. Two receivers make two zones.
Oelo sizes the controller in lights, not feet. Its retrofit page says one control box powers up to 300 lights, or more with an optional boost box, and its brochure gives the controller six outputs for six zones. At 10 inch spacing, 300 lights is about 250 ft of lit run, by our arithmetic. Ask Oelo which control unit you are quoting, because capacity figures vary across its pages.
On both, every booster, buffer, receiver or extra control box is a line on the quote, not a cost hidden in the per-foot rate. Our permanent per-foot pricing guide shows how to split them out.
The ladder after year one, on both. How long the part stays free depends on the tier you hold (Oelo) or who hung the lights (EverLights).
Oelo's warranty page, as shown in search results, gives 7 years on Authorized, Preferred and Platinum dealer installs and 5 years on Contractor and Customer DIY installs, effective January 1, 2024. Year one is a full coverage period in which Oelo repairs or replaces defective products. The first transferee is covered too. We could not read the terms after year one, so get them from Oelo.
EverLights' install page lists 1 year on colour-changing lights, 5 years on parts plus 1 year labour when EverLights installs, and 15 years on the Classic line. Its warranty page says 1 to 10 years by product and install method, excludes labour on every install, requires EverLights components on a third-party install, and starts the clock at app activation on a dealer-sold system.

Oelo prices every rung; EverLights prices none. Oelo's setup-fee product pages, as shown in search results:
Authorized: $5,000 up front, 20 percent off list on kits and components, up to $2,500 in ad match.
Preferred: $25,000 up front including the $5,000 setup fee, 30 percent off and $20,000 of product credit.
Platinum: $75,000 up front including the $5,000 setup fee, 35 percent off and $70,000 of product credit.
Oelo's warranty also names a Contractor install level at 5 years. We could not confirm its current discount today, and Oelo's older tier sheets disagree with the newer pages, so get the current sheet in writing. Moving from Contractor to Authorized adds two warranty years to every customer you sell.
EverLights' dealer page promises "minimal startup costs that include product," training, marketing and technical support, and no specialty tools. No figure. Neither brand's pages we saw describe a protected territory. All six programs are side by side on permanent lighting dealer programs compared.
A single-storey ranch: 168 ft of roofline, two front gables with 32 ft of peaks, and three unlit jumps of 6 ft each over the garage, the entry and a bump-out. That is 200 lit feet, measured from one owned photo with the 16 ft garage door as the reference. You can price this house in the free tool and check each run. The price did not care which brand you draw. The materials list did, and the three data buffers and three boosters are exactly the lines a tape measure and a calculator forget. Footage from a photo is an estimate; confirm it on site before channel is cut.
Pick Oelo over EverLights when you want a published dealer ladder you can plan around, a 7 year warranty on every customer once you reach Authorized, and a flush lens look or a metal channel. The six zones per controller suit houses where front and back run different scenes. Budget the $5,000 step early, and confirm every figure on the current sheet, since its site would not load for us.
Pick EverLights over Oelo when you work outside its five company locations, your market asks for a dedicated warm white, and you like a published power layout you can draw from. Go in knowing the homeowner can buy the kit, labour is never in the warranty, and a dealer-sold warranty starts at app activation. Confirm spacing and dealer terms first, because its pages do not state them.
Both brands sell kits, so you can price the lights alone. The EverLights 100 ft kit is $16.75 a foot before boosters, buffers, ladders or labour; our EverLights cost per foot page walks the rest. On Oelo, ask which dealer tier your installer holds, since it sets your warranty at 5 or 7 years. On either, ask who pays the ladder after year one, and ask for footage by run.
Neither brand's pages describe running the other's lights on its controller, so treat a switch as a new product line, not a parts swap.
In GlowBid, each brand and spacing is its own product line with its own per-foot rates, and boosters, buffers and control boxes go in as add-ons. You draw the runs once on a photo you own; footage, bill of materials and price come from the same drawing, with a materials buffer you set (default 10 percent). The scope block carries the warranty your tier or install method gives. The customer signs on their phone with a Stripe deposit, which carries Stripe processing plus a GlowBid platform margin under 1 percent, shown before you connect Stripe. Core is $69 a month or $299 a year, with a 7-day trial, no card, and a 30-day money-back on a first yearly payment. See the pricing. FAQ
Questions installers ask
Is Oelo or EverLights better for an installer?
Neither wins on every row. Oelo gives you a published dealer ladder, 7 years of warranty on Authorized and higher installs and up to six zones per controller. EverLights gives you a startup it calls minimal but does not price, a true warm white and a published power layout, but runs its own crews in five US markets and sells kits to homeowners. Pick by who else sells each brand near you.
Can homeowners buy Oelo or EverLights as a kit?
Both, which is the thing this pair shares. EverLights sells ClickLights kits on its own site, with the 100 ft kit at $1,675. Oelo sells lighting kits too, and its warranty names Customer DIY installs at 5 years. So on either brand, a homeowner can price the lights before you quote. Sell the drawing, the install, the labour term and the service call, not the lights alone.
Does 24 volt or 36 volt change the layout?
It changes the power lines on your quote. EverLights publishes a 24 V supply in its kit and a power booster about every 75 ft. Oelo's chart lists 36 V, and its retrofit page says one control box powers up to 300 lights, more with an optional boost box. Lay out power on the drawing before you price, so a long house does not hide a second supply.
Which has the better warm white, Oelo or EverLights?
They make white differently. EverLights' home page lists RGBW lights with a true warm white. Oelo's pages describe RGB with preset warm and cool whites mixed from colour, and Oelo argues its RGB approach avoids output loss it attributes to RGBW. Those are each maker's own claims. Show both at night on the same fascia before you promise a colour temperature.
What does it cost to become an Oelo or EverLights dealer?
Oelo publishes its tiers on product pages: Authorized is $5,000 up front with 20 percent off list, Preferred is $25,000 including the $5,000 fee with 30 percent off and $20,000 of product credit, and Platinum is $75,000 with 35 percent off and $70,000 of credit. EverLights promises minimal startup costs that include product and publishes no figure.
Who covers labour on Oelo and EverLights after year one?
You do, unless your agreement says the homeowner does. EverLights' warranty excludes labour on every install, and its 1 year labour term applies only when its own crew installs. Oelo's first year is a full coverage period on its warranty page; we could not read what changes after that. Write your own labour term and service call fee into the agreement.
