Gemstone Lights does not publish a price per foot. Its own cost page, checked October 28, 2026, says the price is the linear feet times the local dealer's market rate. The one dated dealer number we could verify is $28 per linear foot installed, fall 2026 pricing, posted June 23, 2026 by Blingle of Northern Colorado, a Gold Status Gemstone dealer. Below: every public Gemstone figure, and how a dealer builds the rate.

No. Gemstone's answer to "how much do Gemstone Lights cost" names two factors, the number of linear feet and the local market rate for installation, and then sends you to an authorized dealer for a quote. The product page says the same thing and lists no prices. Professional installation is required, so there is no DIY kit price to work back from either.
That leaves dealers. Several cost-guide sites print Gemstone ranges, but the ones we found cite no dealer, no date and no price sheet, so we left them out. We kept one number: Blingle of Northern Colorado, which calls itself a Gold Status Gemstone Lights dealer, posts $28 per linear foot for professionally installed Gemstone, labelled fall 2026 pricing, on a page dated June 23, 2026. It also offers 10 percent off for buyers who purchase before July 31 or put down a 50 percent deposit for a spring install.
One dealer is one market. Treat $28 as a real, dated data point from Colorado, not as the Gemstone price.

It depends on product cost, and Gemstone keeps the dealer sheet private. What its dealer page does publish is the opening inventory: roughly $10,000 to $15,000, covering lights, controllers, power kits, extensions and wire for "your first 5-6 average-sized homes", with track bought separately. The same page lists a starter kit of up to $10,000 CAD/USD and does not explain the gap.
Here is our arithmetic on those words. It is a rough ceiling, not Gemstone's dealer price.

Product per foot, before track
$14.25
$25.64
our division
At the high end, $25.64 of product under a $28 selling rate leaves almost nothing for labour, and track is still to buy. At the low end there is about $13.75 a foot of room. So get the real dealer sheet in writing before you set a rate. The inventory is an opening order, not a per-job cost, and a dealer price sheet will usually beat this ceiling.
Start from your real product cost and add the job, run type by run type. In order:
Product per foot. Lights, plus track in the colour the customer picks. Gemstone lists over 150 track types and colours, so track cost is not one number.
Labour per foot by run type. Roofline, ridge line, peak and jump are different feet. Peaks take mitres and extra ladder moves; jumps carry wire and no lights.
Premiums. A pitch premium on peaks and a storey premium on upper runs.
Controller and power as lines. The controller box is 8 by 11 inches per Gemstone's FAQ; where it mounts and where power comes from belong on the quote.
Labour warranty and service calls. Gemstone covers no labour, so your labour term is your cost.
Minimum job and deposit. A short porch still costs a truck and a setup.
These are the starting numbers on GlowBid's default rate card. Every installer replaces them with their own.
Worked example: Gemstone's 117 ft roofline at $3,419.80#
We used Gemstone's own example size, a 117 ft roofline. Our version: a single-storey ranch with 93 ft of roofline, two 12 ft peaks and one 6 ft jump, measured from the installer's own photo against a 16 ft garage door. Photo footage is an estimate and gets confirmed on site before track is cut. Priced on GlowBid's default track line.

$3,419.80
1Roofline (storey 1)$2,32568%
2Peaks, 2 runs of 12 ft (plus 15% pitch)$772.8023%
That is $29.23 per lit foot, all in. Blingle's posted $28 times the same 117 lit feet is $3,276, but its page does not say whether the controller, jumps or peaks are inside that rate, so the two numbers are not a like-for-like test. To get your own house in feet by run type, draw it in the free roofline tool and price it against any card.
Now set the total against the product ceiling from the inventory table. At $1,667 of product, $1,752.80 is left for track, labour, overhead and margin. At $3,000, only $419.80 is left, before track. That spread is why your dealer sheet, not anyone's posted rate, has to set your card. The profit margin page works jobs through to net.
What does the Gemstone warranty do to your price?#
It makes every ladder trip after your labour term yours. Gemstone's warranty page, updated October 1, 2026, gives:
Track lights: lifetime, defined by testing at an estimated 50,000 hours (about 20 years at 7 hours a day).
System parts: 10 years on power kits, controllers, extensions, cables, connectors and track.
Flood and patio lights: 5 years.
Labour: not covered. Authorized dealers may offer their own.
Registration: within 30 days of install, through the app or the registration page, or the warranty is not honoured.
Transfer: once, to a new homeowner, within 90 days of possession.
So the part is free and the visit is not. Print Gemstone's parts terms and your own labour term side by side on every quote, and keep a service call rate on your card. The service call and repair pricing page has the structure.
How does Gemstone compare with brands that publish a price?#
Quoting one dealer's rate as the brand's price. $28 is Colorado, fall 2026. Your market sets yours.
Leaving track out of product cost. The opening inventory excludes it, and track colour changes the cost.
Using the $250 default controller. Set the add-on from your real cost for the control box and power.
Promising Gemstone covers labour. It does not. Your labour term is your promise.
Skipping registration. No registration inside 30 days, no warranty.
Measuring from a satellite view. Gables shrink from above and the imagery is not yours to measure. Use your own photo with a known length, and confirm on site.
Canadian jobs off US rates. Ask for CAD in writing and add GST or HST (13 percent in Ontario).
In GlowBid you draw the runs on your own photo, set the scale from a known length, and the footage, the bill of materials and the price come from that one drawing. Set Gemstone up as its own product line with your dealer sheet cost, your track colours, and your controller at your real cost, not the $250 default. Every measurement carries a source tag and a confidence level, and the quote says photo footage is an estimate confirmed on site. If you sell Gemstone, the Gemstone dealer software page covers quoting and job tracking in more detail. Plans start at $69 a month or $299 a year on the pricing page, with a 7-day trial (no card) and a 30-day money-back guarantee on a first yearly payment.
FAQ
Questions installers ask
How much do Gemstone Lights cost per foot installed?
Gemstone does not say. Its own cost page says the price comes from two things, the linear feet and the local market rate, and sends you to an authorized dealer. The one dated dealer figure we found is Blingle of Northern Colorado, a Gold Status Gemstone dealer, at $28 per linear foot for fall 2026, posted June 23, 2026. Your local dealer's number can be higher or lower.
How much does a Gemstone Lights system cost for a whole house?
Gemstone publishes no whole-house figure. Multiply the lit footage by your dealer's per-foot rate, then ask what else is a line: controller, extra power, peaks, jumps. Gemstone's FAQ uses a 117 ft roofline as its average example. At Blingle's posted $28 a foot, 117 ft is $3,276, if every foot is priced the same. Most quotes are not that simple.
Does the Gemstone Lights warranty cover labour?
No. Gemstone's warranty page, updated October 1, 2026, gives a lifetime warranty on track lights and 10 years on system parts such as power kits, controllers and track, and it says labour is not covered. Authorized dealers may offer their own labour warranty. Registration within 30 days of install is required or the warranty is not honoured, so make registration part of your job checklist.
What does it cost to become a Gemstone Lights dealer?
Gemstone says it charges no fee to become an authorized dealer. Its dealer page asks for an inventory purchase of roughly $10,000 to $15,000, which it says covers lights, controllers, power kits, extensions and wire for your first 5 or 6 average-sized homes, but not track. The same page also lists a starter kit of up to $10,000 CAD/USD and $2 million in liability insurance.
Why does Gemstone not publish a price?
Because dealers set it. Gemstone's cost page ties the price to footage and the local market rate for installation, and its dealer page says there are no exclusive territories. With several dealers able to quote the same street, a national number would not match anyone's rate card. Expect each dealer's price to reflect their own labour, travel and overhead.
Are Gemstone Lights priced in Canadian dollars?
Gemstone was founded in Calgary and its dealer page quotes the starter kit in CAD/USD, but it publishes no retail price in either currency. Blingle's $28 figure is a US dealer's rate. In Canada, ask the dealer for a written CAD per-foot rate by run type, and expect GST or HST on top, which is 13 percent in Ontario.
