Trimlight, Gemstone, EverLights, Oelo and Haven are the JellyFish Lighting alternatives installers carry. Spacing, warranty and dealer terms checked October 25.
The JellyFish Lighting alternatives installers carry are Trimlight, Gemstone Lights, EverLights, Oelo and Haven Lighting, with Govee as the do-it-yourself line homeowners buy online. On each brand's own site on October 25, 2026, JellyFish runs 48 volt track at 6, 9 or 16 inch spacing with 5 years on parts. The table below shows where the other five differ: spacing, warranty, what each is known for, and how an installer gets the line.
Written by the GlowBid founder; facts checked on each company's site on October 25, 2026. Oelo's site refused our requests, so its row comes from Oelo's own pages as shown in search results, and it is marked. Where one brand describes another, the claim is attributed. GlowBid is quoting software, not a dealer or partner of any brand here.

Two things to read out of it. The spacing and voltage differences change your cost per foot, not the customer's arithmetic. And the "how you get it" column decides more than the product does, because it decides your territory, your buy-in and your service year. The full dealer terms are on our dealer programs compared page, and the product specs side by side are on the permanent lighting brands compared hub.

Move the sliders. The total comes from the same pricing engine GlowBid quotes with, on the default rate card.
Usually for the terms, not the lights. JellyFish publishes a clear spec sheet; the reasons installers shop around are about the business around it.
Territory. JellyFish charges no territory fee, and its dealer FAQ asks "Do you sell territories?" without a public answer. An installer who wants a protected area in writing looks at Trimlight, which publishes its rules.
Corporate locations. JellyFish's where-to-buy page lists seven corporate locations, from Salt Lake City to South Florida, beside 400 or more US locations. If you work near one, ask how leads are split before you sign.
Canada. The same page lists US locations only. Trimlight's dealer locator covers Canadian provinces, and Gemstone was founded in Calgary with products certified for both countries.
Warranty story. JellyFish publishes 5 years on parts on its product page and 3 years on its holiday lighting page. Trimlight sells "lifetime" and Gemstone puts a lifetime warranty on track lights with 10 years on components. Whether that wins the sale in your market is your call, but it changes the paragraph on your quote.
Trimlight: the territory and lifetime-warranty alternative#
Trimlight is the line for an installer who wants written territory rules and a lifetime parts story. It runs 12 volt at 6, 9 or 12 inch spacing with more than 50 channel colours. Its warranty covers parts for the maker's estimated lifespan, ridge lights for one year, and the dealer carries labour for at least one year. Entry is $5,000 or $10,000 plus a $499 demo kit, with the balance as material credit, and a required two-day training in Salt Lake City. It lists 330 or more authorized dealers across the US and Canada.
One caution. Trimlight's comparison page says JellyFish offers one spacing, 9 inch. JellyFish's own product page lists 6, 9 and 16 inch today. Read each maker's own spec sheet, never a rival's.
Gemstone Lights: the established-contractor alternative#
Gemstone is the line for an exterior contractor who is already big. Its program page asks for 5 years in business, $2 million of gross revenue, sales staff, skilled installers and financing. In return: no fee to join, no exclusive territories, a portal with ordering, order tracking, leads and service requests, and a rep beside you on the first job. The product is 9 inch spacing with three LEDs per light and four diodes each, so warm white has its own diode. The app has no monthly fee.
Gemstone's warranty is the longest on components, 10 years on controllers, power kits and track. It does not cover labour, and it is not honoured if it is not registered within 30 days of install.
EverLights, Oelo and Haven: three different shapes#
EverLights suits an installer who also wants a product homeowners can buy as a kit. It runs residential, commercial and ClickLights do-it-yourself lines, lists 5 years on parts and 1 year on labour among its ClickLights features (its warranty page runs 1 to 10 years by product and covers no labour), and sells a 100 ft ClickLights bundle at $1,675 in five channel colours. Its dealer page promises "minimal startup costs that include product" with no figure.
Oelo suits an installer who wants to start small and climb. Its 2024 tier chart runs from 10 to 35 percent off list, and dealer installs carry 7 years against 5 for contractor and DIY installs, which gives you a reason to move up a tier. The channel cover comes in acrylic or metal.
Haven suits a landscape lighting company adding rooflines, or the reverse. Its site sells the X Series permanent roofline beside 9 Series and 6 Series landscape lights and a hardscape line, with the Haven Lighting app for setup and schedules. Its 2024 dealer launch was invitation-only and limited by region and performance.
You do not have to replace JellyFish to use this list. A second line beside it gives you a track quote for the premium job and a no-track quote for the price shopper. The house is drawn once on an owned photo, with the 16 ft garage door as the reference: 120 ft of roofline, two gables with 36 ft of peaks, three jumps totalling 12 ft, one controller. GlowBid's default rate card, US dollars before tax; installers set their own. You can draw this house in the free roofline tool.
The two quotes are $831 apart on the same drawing: $29.19 against $23.86 per lit foot over 156 lit feet. The brand you draw it with changes your node count, not the footage. At 6 inch spacing 156 lit feet is 312 nodes, at 9 inch 208, at 12 inch 156, and at 16 inch 117. Each brand and spacing gets its own product line, with its own rates and warranty text, so the quote prints the right paragraph. The footage came from a photo, so both quotes say it is an estimate confirmed on site.
One per-foot rate for every spacing. 6 inch spacing puts twice the nodes of 12 inch on the same run. One line per spacing on the rate card.
Quoting the old warranty on the new line. JellyFish's 5 years (or 3, depending on the page) is not Gemstone's 10 or Trimlight's lifetime. The warranty text belongs to the product line.
Signing before asking about competing brands. JellyFish lists the question without an answer. Get it in writing.
Leaving the controller in the per-foot rate. JellyFish's 250 ft per controller and a long house mean a second power supply. Controller as its own line.
Missing registration. Gemstone stops honouring the warranty if it is not registered within 30 days of install. Add it to the install checklist.
Believing rival comparison pages. Trimlight's page and JellyFish's page disagree on JellyFish's spacing. Use each maker's own page.
Choose the installer first, then the line. Trimlight and JellyFish both say their local dealers set their own prices, and JellyFish's own pricing page says its $25 to $35 per foot and $650 to $850 controller apply to its corporate locations only. Ask who covers labour after year one and whether the warranty is registered in your name.
If you want to do it yourself, Govee sells Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 online with VHB tape and clips, lights 417 mm apart (about 16 inches) and a strip that cannot be cut. EverLights' ClickLights kit is the other DIY route. Our permanent versus seasonal lights guide helps decide whether permanent is right for the house at all.
None of these makers publishes a tool that turns your own price list into a quote; our permanent lighting dealer software page shows what each portal does instead. In GlowBid you name each line you carry, set per-foot rates by run type, peak and storey premiums, and the controller as an add-on, then draw the house once on a photo you own. Footage, bill of materials and price come from that one drawing, every measurement carries a source tag and a confidence level, and the quote carries the disclaimer that photo measurements are estimates confirmed on site. Set your base rates with the permanent per-foot pricing guide. Pricing starts at $69 a month or $299 a year for Core, with a 7-day trial and no card, on the pricing page.
FAQ
Questions installers ask
Who are JellyFish Lighting's main competitors?
For installers, Trimlight, Gemstone Lights, EverLights, Oelo and Haven Lighting, all sold through dealer or installer programs. Govee is the do-it-yourself line homeowners buy online, so it competes for the customer rather than the dealer. Each one differs on spacing, warranty and how you get the product.
What are the Trimlight competitors?
The same group: JellyFish, Gemstone, EverLights, Oelo and Haven on the professional side, and Govee for do-it-yourself buyers. Trimlight runs a 12 volt system at 6, 9 or 12 inch spacing with a lifetime parts warranty and protected territories. JellyFish runs 48 volt track at 6, 9 or 16 inches with 5 years on parts and no territory fees, per each company's own pages.
Is Trimlight better than JellyFish?
Neither is better on paper; they are built differently. Trimlight publishes a lifetime parts warranty, 50 or more channel colours and protected territories for a $5,499 or $10,499 entry. JellyFish publishes 5 years on parts, one controller driving 250 ft of lights and no franchise or territory fees, without a dollar figure. Choose by your market, the dealer terms and what you can service.
Can I carry JellyFish and another permanent lighting brand?
Ask JellyFish in writing. Its dealer FAQ lists selling competing brands as a question but gives no public answer. Trimlight's territory model and Gemstone's first-job approval both assume an active dealer in your area. On the quoting side it is simple: one product line per brand, each with its own per-foot rates, controller price and warranty text on the quote.
What is the cheapest alternative to JellyFish Lighting for homeowners?
The do-it-yourself kits. Govee sells Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 online, fixed with VHB tape and clips, with lights 417 mm apart and a strip that cannot be cut. EverLights sells a ClickLights 100 ft kit at $1,675. Both skip the installer, which also means the homeowner carries the ladder, the fit at corners and every service call.
Which JellyFish alternative is sold in Canada?
Trimlight lists dealers across the US and Canada, and Gemstone Lights was founded in Calgary and certifies its products for sale and installation in both countries. JellyFish's where-to-buy page lists 400 or more US locations and names no Canadian ones. If you install in Canada, confirm the dealer terms and the warranty in Canadian dollars before you sign.
