Permanent Lighting Software for Installers and Dealers
Permanent lighting software for installers has to speak track. How do you draw a permanent job?
Set the scale from one known length, a garage door or a tape measurement, then draw. Roofline along the eaves. Ridge line where you run the top. Peak on every gable edge, so the peak premium lands where the ladder work is. Jump for the unlit wire between runs. Each run carries a storey count, a source tag (reference-scaled or manual) and a confidence level. Runs angled away from the camera get a foreshortening warning so you know which numbers to confirm on site.
The bill of materials comes from the same lines: footage by run type with your buffer applied, the total lit footage to order, the node count at your bulb spacing, and whatever controllers and transformers you add. Change a run and the footage, the materials and the price all move together. That is the whole product.
How are jumps, peaks and storeys priced?
Peaks carry a per-foot rate of their own plus a percent premium. Storeys above the first add a percent premium on the base of that run. Both premiums are calculated on the base price and added, never multiplied together. On top of that, you can set a flat charge per jump and per peak, so a house with 6 jumps pays for 6 jumps even when the wire is short. What does a two-storey house come to?
One real shape, priced on the default track card: 250 lit feet, 24 feet of jump, one Wi-Fi controller. These are the engine's numbers, not rounded by hand.

How do multi-year leases work?
A lot of permanent work is sold as a seasonal lease instead of a one-time sale. GlowBid has three agreement types built in: permanent one-time, seasonal service on customer-owned lights, and a multi-year seasonal lease with a term of 1, 3 or 5 seasons. A lease has a per-season price schedule, includes-flags for product, maintenance, takedown and storage, and an end-of-term disposition. Does it fit a dealer programme?
Yes. Dealers for brands such as Trimlight, JellyFish, Gemstone, EverLights and Oelo quote from the price list their programme gives them. GlowBid does not ship any brand's prices. Put your list on your own rate card as a custom product line, with kits if your programme sells by the package, and the drawing prices from it. - Is this built for permanent lighting or adapted from a seasonal tool?
- Built for permanent first. The default rate card ships with a track line and a no-track line, run types for roofline, ridge line, peak and jump, a 15 percent peak premium, a 10 percent storey premium, flat per-jump and per-peak charges, and a Wi-Fi controller add-on. Seasonal C9 and seasonal service lines sit beside them for the installers who do both.
- How are jumps priced?
- Two ways, and you can use both. A jump is drawn as its own unlit run and priced per foot from the rate card, $12 on the default track line. On top of that you can set a flat per-jump charge, which is $0 on the default card until you change it. The quote shows the jump footage and the count.
- Do the peak and storey premiums compound?
- No. Both are calculated on the run's base price and added. A 40-foot peak at $28 is $1,120 base. The 15 percent peak premium adds $168 and the second-storey premium adds $112, for $1,400. Premiums never multiply each other, so a steep two-storey peak is priced the way you would price it by hand.
- Can I use my brand's price list instead of per-foot rates?
- Yes. Every number on the rate card is yours, and you can add custom product lines, custom run types and kits with their own prices. Dealers for a brand such as Trimlight, JellyFish, Gemstone, EverLights or Oelo keep the price list their programme gives them and put it on their own card. GlowBid does not ship any brand's prices.
